Sky Talk: Former TWA pilots prevail in lawsuit against ALPA
The jury will decided on damages in this case soon. This case combined with the multimillion dollar "greedy" pilots lawsuit
FindACase™ | Mansfield v. Air Line Pilots Association International has to be putting a pinch on ALPA finances. We are hitching our contractual hopes to an organization that is corrupt and loses many more lawsuits than it wins. The attorneys arguing for ALPA in the lawsuits are the same ones that the MEC's consult with for their direction in plotting strategy. These are the same attorneys that argued our LOSING case with the company over the TRO.
How does this whole thing affect us today? There has been a great deal of noise by many saying they will not do the FAA mandated SOC training. Many say they are proving a point and won't do the training. Several of the LEC's even told pilots to go NQ instead of doing the training. These same ALPA leaders are getting their marching orders from the legal equivalent of being the Washington Generals vs Globetrotters.
My opinion is that if the training isn't completed the company will more than happy to wrangle with our ALPA legal team. They will win and we will be left to pay damages out of that potential bucket of pay raises.
If we had an independent union we could restructure our legal team to have those that were paid their salary based on wins versus the current setup at ALPA. Those guys get 6 to 8 figure wages win or lose. Where is the motivation to win?

L,
Gotta agree. Read the independent Seham report on the what happened at

Long read, but you'll see all kinds of familiar names like "Cohen, Weiss, and ****head" our very same legal team during BK. Oh, and they are allegedly "labor law" experts. They once again demonstrate their complete incompetence in BK proceedings. Their failures go all the way back to the 70's working for ALPA. And pilots paid the price once again.
