No, I agree SkyHigh. The major regret in my short life is that I have been TOO focused on aviation. Not to say I've never known a life outside of aviation, I just wish I had spent more time in college following tangents instead of following this stupid dream. I just hate this idea some of you old guys have that there is some magical number of hours where you suddenly know enough to fly an airplane with paying passengers aboard. The number of hours is, to a certain extent, irrelevant. Granted a guy with 800 hours
probably doesn't have the range of experience of some guy with 8000+ hours. The point is that if 800 hour guy spent his time flying in different weather, in different airplanes, coming back in airplanes with ice on them, racing a gust front to the airport, landing on icy runways and generally building a hefty collection of "brown underwear" that he has more experience than 8000 hour guy who spent his time flying in clear blue skies with an autopilot.
This whole experience thing is something that happens gradually. I can tell because every day I get better at finding the pointy end.
