They were simply trying to make up what they have lost at the table due to the inability of Monohan.

Regionals are staffing around 11-12 pilots per plane. With 12 per plane and 45 planes we would be at 540 pilots. Right now we have 500 and we are short. They can keep the planes as far as I care.

Remember guys! We are public. The grand daddy of stock growth is Top Line Growth! Increase in sales. We are at max as is. It seems wherever we put a plane the 80-90% load factor shows up over night. All the brand new LAS stuff was full when I flew it in the past weeks. They want those planes more than us!

But I do agree it would have been nice to hear about all this in an official email.
Not directed at you Norm, just thought it was a good post.

Why would we give concessions to the company at all? They want something (the planes, growth) so they are asking us to give up something in return??? eg. I want something so I want you to give up something to make it happen? That's ridiculous. If they want to grow, they should get to a point of being slightly overstaffed, so they can jump on something like this when the chance comes. I know that'll never happen, but them asking us to give up something is laughable. We should be asking them for something because it will make this company bigger and more profitable to get those A/C. Like Mormann said, 90% load factor in less than a week. What everyone needs to remember is that it takes money to make money, and that money shouldn't come from the pilot group. They will do whatever makes their stock go up the most. If that means getting more A/C, then they will do that without concessions if they need to. They saw this as an opportunity to get permanent concessions for something they were going to do anyway.

I'm no apologist, but the people who think we should give up something to get these airplanes are exactly not the people I want bargaining for me.
