I am young, and once off first year regional pay will still be doing better then 70% of my friends from a top US university, oh and I enjoy my job, so I am not motoring on, I am working, and enjoying it. It is a terrible job market for anyone out of college after 2008, most are working hourly jobs outside their educational focus.

There maybe unemployed pilots who refuse to lower paying jobs, but each year they become less current, further from aviation, and much less appealing to majors. The market is just as saturated with regional captains, that will be the prime picking for majors when they do hire. I think you under estimate over the next ten years how many people will be hired at majors, and how many people will not get hired/meet their qualifications/hrs/etc, just because there are xxxx people with the times for majors, does not mean that many will actually be hired, many have busted rides, accidents, violations, or are just 'weird' and will not get hired. At 24 I optimistic for the future, and do not yet regret choice this job field, particularly when I look at my friends who got masters degrees and are doing nothing more than $15/hr jobs and living at home, while hating life.
