I'm on the staff right now at a MAJCOM. I'll dig around into the numbers with the A1 guys. Even if only one guy gets the boot, that will be enough to create the effect we're discussing. It's been my observation that people often make career decisions based on what "could" or "might" happen to them, not what will "likely" happen. If the possibility exists that you might get shown the door, that's enough for many people to start looking at other options. The exec in my division is concerned enough about he's been bending my ear about FDX weekly. Granted, he's an AWACS bro and not a fighter guy, but the fear is definitely out there among the RegAF pilots.
