Sailor.
Just to be clear. The MEC did NOT know about this offer. At least one (that I am aware of) only found out about the potential aircraft when Gator posted the info on this very forum.

As I said, either the MEC (your four elected reps) is derelict in their responsibility to oversee their officers, or the officers way overstepped their bounds.

We elect status reps, who make up the voting members of the MEC, to represent us and make decisions on our behalf. They then elect an officer corp to be their executive branch, to do their business with the company. But the authority rests with the elected pilot representatives and those reps have an obligation to provide guidance to and oversight of the officers. IOW, the officers work for the MEC.

When the company presents an officer with a proposal, the officer should present that proposal to the MEC for consideration and a decision.

It appears (with near certainty) that the MEC was never presented with the ten airplane offer.

It should have been, absolutely should have been presented.

AGAIN, I speak only to the process that led to the rejection, not the issue of airplanes for concessions. I agree completely that we should not make concessions for airplanes. An even exchange should be considered, or an uneven exchange if we get more than we give should be considered, but NO WAY should we give anything more than we get.
