On many occasions they are asked to give up being number 2 or 3 for the approach and cleared hot for the numbers while everyone else gets vectors. Many times they are asked to sacrifice their place in line behind someone else on departure who gets vectors to provide them with the opportunity to sacrifice yet again by being force fed an expeditious departure. Sometimes they even have to suck it up and taxi as fast as they can both to and from the gate while other ground traffic is held in position.
A SWA crew had to follow us out of MSY last week. We were taxiing to 19, so they asked for 28. After being denied 28 they were told to follow us & for some reason we slowed waaaaaaaay down. Must be a natural reaction to them barreling towards us.
