Absolutely BG. I am in that way contributing to the delinquency of CS.
Butt...

Each time I had already seen the trip on my schedule. Yes I didn't acknowledge any of them because they were usually the ones with less than 2 hours to go which I hate. The reason I look is I'm 1:30 from the time I get in my truck to the time in the crewroom, so I need any extra lead time.
Now on one of those occasions was around Christmas during all of those snow storms and we were out of pilots. At 7am I saw the trip on my schedule it was a 10am go yet I didn't go on SC until 8am. Now I never figured they wouldn't call so I headed out around 730-745. At 800am no call, 830 no call, at 900am i'm trying to call them but the lines were busy right up until I rolled into the parking lot. I said "do you have a trip for me?" and the scheduler was like "let me see... oh... uh oh... get there when you can." "I'm here."
Now I could've just waited until they called me and gotten there when I could but I figured that wasn't going to do those passengers, my crew or myself any favors because that trip was mine come hell or high water. But that's also the reason I never acknowledge those < 2 hour trips, I don't want the ball in my court until I get called because I've got to navigate down the lousy I85 or GA400.
Had I not checked, yeah, I'd gotten a call probably at 10am when the Captain didn't have an FO. As it was I got there 10 or 15 prior to push thanks to the lousy weather and the buses were having driving issues. Of course what happened when I got there? There was a full plane and everyone was waiting on me yet nothing had been done. I got a disgruntled "where have you been?"
Oh well, glad I don't live to impress others.
