I've flown both and don't think it's fair to generalize by manufacturer. Rather a better comparison is between competing products...
That said, I prefer the A-320 hands-down over the so-called "Next generation" 737 series. IMHO that aircraft (737NG) is the definition of mediocrity. That opinion seems to be validated by the relative sales performance of the two types at the 2011 Paris Air Show.
