I started training 20 years ago with the words "pilot shortage" ringing in my ears. Don't worry about a crisis. Even if enough people are smarter than me and seek a different path, airlines have learned a lot from corporations who know how to cut cost and maximize profits by outsourcing to the third world.

I hear a lot of "greyhound" analogies here, keeping the cockpit door shut. It won't be long before pilots go the way of the stereotypical cab driver.
