I wouldn't count it out just yet. This jet was rebuilt, a few years later the pilot punched as it went of the end of the runway. It was rebuilt a second time, flew in the USAF for a few more years. It's now flying in the Israeli Air Force.
Notice the square cut out of the canopy...that's how the pilot got out of this one!
