Thats why all those clowns from airlines like xjt and pcl are calling. They can't even get 1/3 on their own. Also not everyone who has sent in a card in FOR alpa. THey just want to get a vote and VOTE IT DOWN. I know thats why I sent mine in as well as everyone else I know here
Sorry ALPA would DESTROY any future growth at skywest.
Just wait...just about all the RFP's are over...where are you going to be when all this growth stops and the squeeze is put on the regionals again? Hope you've got your precious upgrade over already.
ALPA hasn't been the greatest thing in the world in the recent past. But hopefully its going to turn the corner with the new leadership. Either way, its a good thing to have in your corner when things don't go as planned. I'm not totally sure what happened to them, but I'm sure your comrads who went off the end of the runway up in CWA last year wished you guys had ALPA...Who is this tool? Clowns...you're funny...I can't wait to watch skypest fall, and hopefully it will be without ALPA representation at the time. While ALPA hasn't been fail safe, we can all watch the company do what they want to you guys with no protection at all.
You can rant all you want but the fact is we get paid well above industry average, upgrade time is low, and the company is extremely stable and has been for over 34 years.
Well...the last time I checked, your 5% override to fly a 90 seat airplane was well UNDER what most companies get paid to fly 70 seat airplanes (CHQ, ASA, Comair, AWAC, Horizon), even under what a few some get paid to fly 50 seat airplanes (XJT), and WAY under the pay scales of other places who have 90 seat rates. And upgrade is relatively low just about everywhere now, its turned into a pilots market at the regional level.
(this kind of goes with this discussion, and answers another tools post about why everyone bashes skypest) And, you're industry average pay rates screw other pilots who get their raises based upon industry averages. Thats why you try and raise the bar, not meet it. You really think all these major groups are going to accept what they have now, and not try to raise the bar when all their agreements come up for negotiations?? Don't you think that Mesaba didn't throw your agreement in its pilots faces when they were negotiating their 70 seat rates?? It all goes around...
