It's not cabotage any more than flying out of Kansas is cabotage because Guam is a US territory. Being an "American based in Guam" I have a monthly FBA and fly ten one-day out-and-backs a month that average about 7:45 a trip. I'm home every night and don't do layovers. If you think that's employee abuse, I strongly encourage you not to bid it. Feel free to stay home in Oklohama, but please don't dick it up for those of us who like the option of living and working here. Let me reiterate - PEASE feel free not to bid Guam. Really.
What about the JR pilot? Is the lifestyle on Reserve weak? How short on coverage do they get out there? I hear rent is steep on the Island because the military BAQ is $1900/m now and that drives rents up. Do you have kids? I hear local schools are a nightmare unless you can afford a private education or do home-schooling. Is there a sense of disconnect from Mainland happenings? Do you like the small base too? (65 crews?) Thanks for all your positive feedback..
