Keeping a logbook goes way beyond the value of preparing for applications. I've posted on this here before, but in addition to the fodder for many good stories its a treasure chest of great memories you will have for the rest of your life.

Like planting a tree, there are two good times to start a logbook: Twenty years ago and today. It is one of those "better late than never..." actions. I won't be too repetitive, but my log is filled with a lot of great memories with friends and squadron mates (some who have flown west...), and since I don't keep a diary is a great look back at life.

The latest (overdue!) entry will be an approach to 13L at JFK at mins that I got to fly all the way down as weather called it much better than it was (thus negating the requirement for a monitored approach). First look at that approach--ever--and what a fun way to see it for real. Lot of fun, smiles, and lessons learned in those logs when you look back... If you are late to the game--so what--you've got more adventures ahead. Start the log now...
