Regarding education. As Chairman, I wrote a communique (and actually signed my name to it if you can believe it) about four times a month in which I tried to educate the members on issues ranging from the need to support other pilot groups to the need for volunteers. The last time I checked, most of my updates were still available on the ALPA crewroom site. During my tenure the VARS was updated every payday. My Comm Chair sent out a update every two weeks as well. My Negotiating Committee met with every recurrent class and most every newhire class. Etc, etc, etc.

But you're correct, I could have done more. I spent the first half of my tenure learning the job and the second half dealing with two LEC's that wouldn't talk to each other. But again, I could have done more. I wanted to do more. It was for that reason, along with pre hypertension, that I was willing to step down. That's right, I was neither fired nor forced out. In fact, I suggested Creed as my replacement based on my contact with him when he led the instructor replacement committee back in 2006. (You all forgot that one didn't you?) I told him so to his face in the terminal in FLL about a week before he accepted the job.

Now let me tell you your problem Waldo. You're still fighting old political battles with a perceived enemy. You're real enemy is a large group of relatively junior NK pilots that are sick and tired of the old ways that you and I represent. In fact, even though your blinders prevent you from seeing it, the group going after your figurehead leader does NOT want me in it precisely because they want to forge their own way. Remember, Doug and Frank ran as a team. Travis ran alone.

But I'm not really speaking to you Waldo, I'm speaking to the casual reader of this string who might take you at your word.

To them I say this: Waldo the anonymous, makes unsubstantiated charges against a known. I'm hardly anonymous and hardly nothing. I received 49% of the vote in the last Captain Rep election (79 to 80) after running a positive campaign. I shook hands with my opposition at the nomination meeting and vowed to run a clean campaign and did so. (some of my support was frustrated with me because I refused to go negative) My platform was simply this: SPA ALPA needs a merger committee, we need to increase communication to the members, we need to get members involved. My current effort is nothing more than an extension of that effort.

My record is a matter of record. Waldo is an internet troll. I'll let the reader be the judge.

PS to Waldo. I spent the entire strike on duty at the airport carrying a camera on scab patrol. I spent my own cash getting there because I was on medical leave (ruptured bicep tendon) and had no ID badge. As for my "cronies" taking leave I think the ratio of my "cronies" going on medical leave to your "cronies" going on medical leave is one to one. You're forgetting that your FO rep was out over a year with a bad shoulder and your grievance Chair was out almost a year with some problem. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Answer the questions. This is a line of BS. Some more: How many unsubstantiated terminations did you have? How many pilots did you coerce into resigning because you didn't know how to represent them? Have you learned what the rights of the pilots are? Can you post the notice of your meetings? Some of my friends at ALPA carriers are interested in listening to your teachings.
