If you're gonna blame anyone for the bad schedules at Colgan, blame the management that allowed the severe short staffing on the Saab to occur. The schedules for August and September would have been crap whether they were built by Mesaba or Colgan.
We had days in July when we started the day with one or zero reserves. You can't run an airline like that and the lineholders had to work more so we could staff enough reserves. The other option was build schedules like July but get extended/junior manned into your day off.
