Can you choose to base out of London, Auckland, or Vancouver, or do you have to live in the US or HK exclusively?

Also, would it be possible to hold a Guard job while flying for them, or would it not work since they wouldn't have to grant any mil leave because of being foreign based?
If you are a member on the "other" board there has been quite a few posts about what you ask. One guy that posts has a reserve commitment. If I remember him saying correctly, it's not to much of problem only because of a few things; He is relatively senior, he is LAX based, and his reserve gig is in a Socal area. Don't forget, you have no JS privledge with Cathay, I heard USAir maybe. And thats a big maybe. So trying to get to a reserve job anywhere other than where they have a US domocile unless you have pass travel from a spouse or use ID90/ZEDS.

Also, I believe he said that since they are not a US airline they are under no obligation what so ever to give you time off for a military obligation, even if US based.

Also, check out pprune.com. Go down to the fragrant harbour section. All your q's about working at CX could be answered there.
