USAPA was created because a majority of pilots (who were working for a company close to liquidation) disagreed with a decision made in binding arbitration. They DIVIDED a pilot group in order to get what they wanted. As someone who has been furloughed (twice) I would think that East pilots should have been happy to hold on to their jobs and continue their careers. Instead, they opted for less than optimal pay and work rules while alienating the West pilots and allowing the company to profit from the chaos and laugh all the way to the bank. Now they are losing the publicity battle as well. Looks to me like USAPA has failed on every level and given Americans another reason to distrust organized labor.
You are spot on! This attempted mulligan has cost them, and all pilot groups in this country, dearly.
