SeaSlap8 makes perfect sense. I don't have a dog in this fight, but it seems like the Easties have made a mess of things. They have perverted what a labor union stands for. Unions were supposed to UNITE a labor group in order to prevent management from imposing unfair labor practices. USAPA was created because a majority of pilots (who were working for a company close to liquidation) disagreed with a decision made in binding arbitration. They DIVIDED a pilot group in order to get what they wanted. As someone who has been furloughed (twice) I would think that East pilots should have been happy to hold on to their jobs and continue their careers. Instead, they opted for less than optimal pay and work rules while alienating the West pilots and allowing the company to profit from the chaos and laugh all the way to the bank. Now they are losing the publicity battle as well. Looks to me like USAPA has failed on every level and given Americans another reason to distrust organized labor.
