Sounds like a really good idea. Think how much money the company would potentially lose out on should a pilot become fatigued and had to scrub/delay a charter. Inexpensive insurance on their part.
Do charters at big D usually go to reserves? I did a couple at my last regional and they almost always went to reserves and most were backside of the clock, pretty rough when you don't have time to get on the right schedule.
