You guys love to miss the point regarding the comparison between an aviation career and the post office so I will spell it out for you.
When evaluated from an 18 year old perspective who is starting today in the civilian market a career in the post office is a safer bet than aviation and offers a better return on their investment. Just to start an aviation career most have to drop nearly a quarter of a million dollars just to get trained and educated as a pilot.
All the post man has to do is to pass a test and hold a GED. It isn't really all that hard to understand. However to those who currently hold good jobs as pilots then by all means hold on to it.
