If I get it right ALPO now has more pilots from regionals than mainline and scope is certainly a major issue. How can they possibly pretend to rep both the mainline carrier and the regionals that are trying to take over the same flying?
Like many things... Follow the $$. ALPO wants Blu for dues, period.
First of all, a very small percentage of DAL pilots are talking of leaving ALPA. Out of 12,300+ pilots, DPA has received roughly 3400 cards. It's likely many are submitting them just to rattle sabres at ALPA.
Secondly, ALPA does NOT have more Regional pilot members then Mainline pilot members. Mainline ALPA members outnumber Regional members.
As far as the conflict of interest goes, with this age of large RJ's and their lift/range capability I have a hard time arguing against it.
