BT Pilot....where are you getting your numbers from? just outta curiosity....ive never seen those figures before, but they sound highly unlikely.

Trev.....you obviously have not worked there long enough to understand how AWAC operates.

First off, im hearing this from friends of mine still at the company....id have a hard time believing they would BS me when im hearing it from several sources.....second off....even if it was a BS statement from Rankin....hes gonna do his best to project doom and gloom and how you guys will all be out of jobs if things dont change. He's setting a course for CONSESSIONS

There may have been a period 10 years ago when AWAC first started taking delivery of the RJ's that they thought that the airplanes would be replaced with bigger ones once the leases were up. This was also when we flew exclusively for United.

JR said to my 2007 ground school class that 70-90 seat RJ's were a temporary solution to a long term problem. Last year he stated in one of his "In Touch" messages that theres no market for 70 50 seat RJ's and that if we dont cut costs and land another RFP, we wont have a contract after 2015.

Now contrary to all that.....3 years ago when we loaned airways an addition 30 million for them to use as a down payment for new planes....JR came out and announced that one of the conditions of this loan was that AWAC's flying be extended "Beyond 2015". Yet when asked on the Q&A about that he beat around the bush after his doom and gloom message came out.

Bottom line....yeah they probably have a contract beyond 2015.....but neither you or any other pilot at AWAC knows for how long.

My guess??? He's gonna ask for concessions before the contract expires....if they vote yes....they continue flying for a little bit more....if not??? the locks go on the crew room doors.

Until then.....enjoy your crappy Clarion Hotels and Comfort Inn's with your 9 hour overnights and 14 hour duty days with 4 swaps 6 legs and broken airplanes.....MAYBE you'll upgrade in 4 more years.

And if you think im pumping this full of smoke? You ask any pilot with a number senior to 18000.....and 90% of them will say what I just did.
