I initially submitted my request through the monthly bid form's comments section, but I was told by Flight Support that the 5 move days aren't handled through the normal bid but through the CP office. They told me to contact the CP and let the CP know what days you need. They said that the move days can be awarded after your final line is out and that the CP office will coordinate this directly with crew sceduling outside of the normal monthly bidding process. Seems like you just have to call up or email the CP and tell them what days you need and they make it happen with crew scheduling.
All well and good, but unfortunately not what the contract says. The contract specifies that you bid moving days on the monthly bid form, and makes no mention of working through the CP office. Seems like a small detail, but it's never a good thing when the company does something that contradicts the contract, especially when the contract is so clear and specific.

Heard the same story from other guys out on the line who have been denied.
This is the biggest problem that seems to be happening, as this, too, is not supported anywhere in the contract. It is my understanding that ALPA is finally on top of this, though it would have been nice if it was handled more than a week and a half before the base closes, seeing as how the association has known for nearly 2 months that the base was closing, and that the association has now known for at least a week or two that people were being denied the benefits of section 6.
