700 was going to Manaus Brazil. Depends on your definition of deep. I think Brazil requires both pilots to be pic type rated. I know the 800 didn't type both pilots until we planned on doing those routes (2007 time frame). Also, there was a lot of talk during that time of Boston to western Europe on the 700. Ex. I forgot about Shannon, that was in the works as well.
Slow, I sat in the Fleet Managers office and he told me that's why FOs were being typed...thats what he said.
Maybe you ought to call PR and ask him, he's now in the 73 training dept. after AK took over the pilot hiring again.
