The rest comes down to price and the terms of the deal. I would assume if we order Boeing they put together a better package.
We're going to replace a 180 seater with a 170 seater that pays less.

From a pilots standpoint there is nothing to be happy about.

From a passenger standpoint we've already discussed the 739's long list of issues. From a pilot's perspective 944 has flown it and "hated it" (picture In Living Color with that hated it).

Let's face it, this is an airplane that will **** off our passengers and probably our pilots. I'll be honest, I was excited to fly one IAH-DEN because it was new and cool and loooong. Got off it and swore I'd never fly on it again. But I had too on the way back. So the next time I got off it and found myself still hating it. And back then I was all pro Boeing screw Airbus. Wasn't long after that, plus lots of rides on 735s, I decided not to be pro Boeing.

It's going to be sad when people rather be on a CRJ-200 than one of Delta's new 739s. We're buying an airplane, new, that blows. Nobody raves about it. It blows. Hate to see us go down this road. I'm not bidding for it, probably won't fly on it, just hate to see my airline pick it. If they ordered 10 and 90 738s okay, but 100 739s?

By the way spoke to someone in engineering once and they weren't thrilled when the 738 didn't live up to expectations as a 752 replacement in Latin America. Can't imagine what they'll think of the 739.
