Even better was the fact they took trip trading away because some figure out how to game they system. And even after all of that you had short overnights. Lots of long long sits at hubs and outstations. I remember flying to MKE in the morning and sleeping in the airplane for I don't remember exactly but I want to say 4 hours. Whatever was just shy of a hotel requirement. Then go back to CLE for another long sit.
That really wears you out.
Funny thing FTB, I remember our MEC chair once telling us at Comair that Lee Moak was going to make sure all outsourced Delta flying was done by ALPA carriers. I guess if you get under cut by an ALPA carrier it takes the sting away when you use your preferential interview card.
So since DALPA has a seat on the board I'm surprised this went through. However, Delta once told Comair we were going to take over the crj900's that Freedom was flying. Then it was Mesaba. Then every other carrier within DCI got a touch. They finally ended up at ASA for a 2 or 3 to one trade.
My point being this might not be as done of a deal yet.
