Anyone hear about how the FAA is denying ATP's to upgrades due to lack of required PIC time? Part 61 plainly and clearly states that SIC time accrued in a 2 pilot airplane under part 121 can substitute for the PIC requirement. We have people that were hired here with an instructing background that are short of the cross country PIC requirement. However, the FAA is not accepting their SIC time even though the regulations say they can. It seems to only be this one FSDO. Are any other pilots here in other districts and different airlines experiencing this issue? Our company is trying to fight them on this. I think the company will prevail, but who knows how long it will take.
