Revived the thread as my wife got her passport (I didn't think it was possible, so quickly). It would just be the two of us.
Wife wants to go to Spain or Italy; I'm thinking Munich, go through Austria (have a friend there) by car or rail, and end up in Italy. Maybe Canada, if we get time-limited to short trips. Will be next month, which I hope is past the peak travel season, and therefore, a little easier for space-A.
I also have military space-A as an option.
Questions:
1. Looking at WebList today, the flights to Madrid are apparently A-330-200s. Snooping on the web, it appears it is Aer Lingus and a code-share. We get to ride those?
Does United metal fly to Rome, Munich, or Madrid?
2. Can I use jumpseat authority on International flights, or is it specific to a carrier, or a nation's rules?
3. I don't have an iPhone or wireless laptop, so computer access while travelling is often hit or miss. There is a way to list on United flights by phone.
How does one list on CO flights by phone, or will gate agents help you out?
4. Anyone have space-A experience in these markets? Right now, Munich looks good for getting accross the pond.
Don't forget that if you try to jumpseat back to the U.S. on an international flight, you have to give the crew desk a minimum of 2 hours notice (TSA required), I suggest 24 hours. They'll give you a pnr. If there are multiple choices, "list" for all of them. I think it' the future desk that makes the listing but I'm not sure.
