There will never be a real pilot shortage. There will exist a shortage WELL QUALIFIED pilots though. Remember back in 07/08 when there was a shortage at the regional level? How many of those newhires were furoughed guys from AA? None. They could not work for $18,000/year, but the 300 hour wonders will filling the seats nicely. Shortage?
