Ding ding ding!
Someone who gets it. I keep chuckling when I read guys posting how a pilot shortage will lead to higher wages at the regional because they'll be short on pilots. Nope, this is what will happen. Every guy who's dreamt of flying will see that the majors are hiring like crazy and the regionals are upgrading in 16 months and FLOOD ATP with guys paying 60k for their tickets, willing to work anywhere for nothing, thinking they'll get on at DAL in 24 months from when they started their PPL.
I predict wages will go down and you'll see guys paying for training in the regionals.
Well hopefully by now, people who wanted to be be pilots have realized after all that has happened, that that is just dumb. Also, I would hope anybody who knows somebody who wants to be an airline pilot will talk some sense into them. I know I am just wishfully thinking, because I know that this could happen. All I can say for sure though is this: If I am still at a regional and the pay goes down, I quit. I hope many other people would do the same, and then they will really be *******ed.
