Just wait. The race to the bottom hasn't even begun. During the hiring boom of 07/08...several flight schools stopped paying employees period. They considered the flight time compensation. They were still overloaded with resumes. Now wait til the majors start hiring alot. Youll start to see regionals do the same thing. People who are using the regionals as a stepping stone will be willing to work for free.
Really? Which schools? I was an ERAU kid during 07-08, and I remember being a student on a waiting list that was 100+ numbers long.... waiting for an instructor with time available. They were offering signing bonuses in excess of $2,000 for anyone that would sign a 6-month contract. Most of those people signed, then bailed anyway. They simply could not stay properly staffed, even with the bonuses. And compared to most CFI jobs, that was a great one. Best CFI position I ever had, anyway....
