True, at some the guy can be pulling A LOT of money in tips, some not so much. Usually the guy making money is ALSO working his tail off. Like the guys at typical airport hotels that are busy the majority of their shift between not only crews but other hotel guests doing 2-3 runs an hour. In the span of an hour, the amount of lifting and schlepping bags the driver does at said type of location can be high.

Other locations, the van driver may not do many runs while working, just earning his hourly wage and maybe a little more in tips.

I AWLAYS tip, and if it's a significant holiday (thanksgiving, Christmas), it's $10 dollars a minimum. I may not be getting any extra to work the holiday, that doesn't mean the person loading/unloading my bags isn't entitled to something for their troubles working on the holiday. But I also had a service background, my perspective can be different than many others.
