Trans States pilots HAD the opportunity to fly those CRJ-7's. Hulas was going to be REQUIRED to have a different certificate anyway due to the AA scope language. Trans States pilots, MEC and ALPO through pure arrogance lost the flying. The TSA pilots wanted more money to fly them (which is understandable) but their arrogant MEC & pilot group flushed the flying away by puffing out their chest and voting NO. Hind sight is always 20/20. The TSA pilots SHOULD have voted yes (to at LEAST get the a/c on property to be flown by TSA pilots) FIRST then worked on the pay issue later. But, now they just blame everyone but themselves for the whole debacle.
First of all, I ALWAYS find it sad when pilots criticize other pilots for attempting to better our profession. I'm really shocked that you called the TSA pilots arrogant for demanding more pay for a larger airplane. It truly is sad.
Second, did you see how long it took TSA to get a new contract? Just voting yes and then going for pay raises would've equaled flying -700's for years at below standard 50 seat rates. Sad
