Us airway flying isn't very profitable. Even if we lose all flying we could absorb it and still be understaffed. Don't forget we have guys going to the jet as well.
I wouldn't say that any pro-rate turboprop flying is 'very profitable' right now. The heyday of the 30-seat turboprops was the late 80's, early 90's, and then you had $20-$30 oil thereabouts (adjusted for inflation). The cost structure of these airplanes has rocketed upward, and the revenue potential obviously hasn't.
