If you really need to get there you get a pass that will put you ahead of all other non revs. And if you are in the middle of a connection then you will also be aged in the line. If they did what you are suggesting then people would walk up to the counter 20 before departure and try to get onthe flight asthey do with the j/s, that would make a night mare for commuters.
