I am for LGB pay for the most part. It voids the disparity of junior/senior domiciles. Currently I could hold any position with good seniority in MSP and DTW outside of the 330/777. In ATL however, the only plane that gives me seniority is the 88. If I chose to commute I could make an extra $20/hour at a minimum. I choose not to commute so I am forced to make less money. I disagree with you. LGB pay would hurt you. A lot of guys who commute to get the extra 20$ and hour would not have to commute anymore. They would come back to ATL. With LGB you may not be able to hold ATL at all. Why would anybody commute to NYC or DTW if the pay was the same? If you are a relatively junior pilot at this airline you could be forced into commuting as the senior guys move to the good bases.
