All officer's on the CAL MEC were just reelected to an unprecedented number of terms in the history of the MEC. That's usually indicative of the fact they get along well with the reps and are doing a pretty good job. They are constitutionally bound and are going to advocate their pilot group's position on matters that arise through the TPA, merger and contract negotiations unless addressed through the joint committee structure. The same holds true for the UAL MEC. Both signed off on such a structure. You have a problem with that?

Until the pilot groups are combined, there are two MEC's with their own elected reps and officers, each looking out for their own respective pilot groups. We operate according to the TPA and joint committee structure until the combination point. When we're combined, it becomes one MEC with combined councils and new officer elections. Do you think they should conduct themselves otherwise?

And...just how is changing organizations in the middle of a merger and joint negotiations going to change all this? I'm all ears.
