From my understanding, enrollment is at an all-time low at MAPD, so that not only shrinks the applicant pool for JO, but also proves that the "word" is out. Very few new hires are off-the-street (for obvious reasons) so the ab-initio and PACE programs at MAPD account for well over the majority of new hires.

It used to be that JO could lure applicants with the promise of quick upgrade, and there was a mutual "screw you" factor between the two parties. JO screwed the pilots by treating them like crap, yet the pilots conversely screwed JO/Mesa by upgrading quickly, getting the required PIC, and moving on to bigger and better things...ASAP! In the good 'ol days, that could have been as little as 2-3 years at Mesa...somewhat of a small price to pay for getting hired at a major.

Now, the quick upgrade has vanished (excluding the Beech, which is a small portion of the Mesa fleet) and JO has nothing to motivate one to come to Mesa. NADA! No promise of mass airplane deliveries or pending new contracts...nothing! Attrition is at an all-time high, yet the applicant pool is practically empty. His world is crumbling down beneath him, yet his massive ego simply won't allow him to notice.

The fun is just beginning. The implosion continues...
