In the good 'ol days, that could have been as little as 2-3 years at Mesa...somewhat of a small price to pay for getting hired at a major.

Now, the quick upgrade has vanished (excluding the Beech, which is a small portion of the Mesa fleet) and JO has nothing to motivate one to come to Mesa. NADA! No promise of mass airplane deliveries or pending new contracts...nothing! Attrition is at an all-time high, yet the applicant pool is practically empty. His world is crumbling down beneath him, yet his massive ego simply won't allow him to notice.

The fun is just beginning. The implosion continues...
And what you are saying in the second quoted paragraph is exacerbated by the fact that high-quality regionals such as SkyWest, ExpressJet, and Republic have been/are/are going to do lots of hiring. The Mesa quick upgrade advantage seems to have completely dissapeared with folks going from 1000/100 to EMB-120 CA in 18 months at SKW or 600/100 to EMB-145 CA in 24 months at XJT.
