+1 on the persistent, it took me two interviews and attending two different job fairs for me to get on at my current employer. worth it to be here now.

when talking of Lakes, lots of people toss around the 1,000 TPIC time almost like it's automatic. plenty of variables come into play, namely the pilot's ability to survive upgrade training. with only 21 multi, and no disrespect meant here, but perhaps the OP could be better served by continuing to build skill and true PIC time by instructing a bit longer and holding out for a more promising opportunity. (again, no slam on Lakes. the Lakers I've flown with are consistently among the best).

in the end, it's a gamble no matter what. commuting definitely should factor into your decision at some point as well.
