Another "cheap" type to get would be for the C-525 Citation Jet. It is good for the entire family of CJ's (CJ1, CJ2, CJ3 AND CJ4). LOFT in San Diego offers it for around 7K I believe.
LOFT quoted me something like $12 grand for one of their courses... But it said single pilot type rating.. I was more interested in the In-Aircraft course with the 4-5 hours of jet time.
