If the DPA is worried about ALPA's "conflict" then they should have put the percentage into the territory where it would actually effect ALPA members. The Skywest pilots alone do 20% and ALPA does not represent them.
IMHO - pretty darn arrogant to be telling pilots how to respond on THEIR survey! But if you are going to tell them how to respond, at least make it a relevant figure. I like

%, at least for starters.
Bar;
It is my experience, and YMMV, that a fairly sizeable chunk of the pilots I work with are somewhat disengaged. They dont know who did what to whom or any details of our outsourcing, codesharing, jv, etc.
Now with that, I will caveat that an equally sizeable chunk are extremely plugged in and aware. Some of them to a point that is downright amazing.
With group 2, I dont have any concern or issue with what opinion they put in their survey...It is an educated one and even if they are in disagreement with me, I dont care because they are thoughtful enough on their topics.
With group 1, if they breeze through the union materials, they receive what I consider to be a sugar coated display of the world around them. With the ones that dont even breeze through the materials, I am frustrated.
I dont know what the fix is for the above situation, but is it really wrong to be frustrated with group 1? Is it arrogant to be frustrated? Are people who try to stay on top of what is going on, but who are frustrated with ALPA really zealots?
Does namecalling prove any point regardless of which side of the aisle it comes from.
