Always knew that this would happen. I believe in the NPRM they asked a specific question that said something like... "what do you feel about 800 hours as an hourly requirement for first officers?" It would still force people to probably flight instruct after graduating from a university. With such a large loophole left by congress, you knew that the FAA was going to take advantage of it. The problem is this is rule is coming without major lobbying pressure. I just hope that it doesn't get further reduced.
