#4. "etc" is a gray word that lawyers will shoot holes in like Swiss Cheese. What does etc mean? What about Inverse Assignments? Should those still be premium pay? IF so, then this proposal is a big fat no in my book, because it is not fair to require a senior guy to stay home and forego a GS when the junior guy answers his phone and gets dbl pay.
Both good points T. I'm not a lawyer and was trying to stay within my 750 characters on the first one. I do want to see lots of examples and clarifications so we don't have to later debate what the definition of "is" is.
etc was me being lazy and not thinking of every possibility. IA has been added to my list. My intent is that no one picks up anything (or is IA'd) if we have guys on the street. No one flying over ALV, etc. If we're constantly running out of reserve pilots and have guys on the street, then it's time to start recalling pilots.
I'm fine with going ALV+15 when there are no guys on the street, but that should be the max cap, including swaps, pots, trip parking, whatever. The goal should be to get our pay up so we don't have to be our own worst enemy. Stagnation sucks for everyone and the sooner we fix the contract so guys don't have to grab every hour they can, the better.
