If you are going the logten route, just a heads up, as of right now you need to upgrade to OSX Lion. I wasn't too happy with that so I posted on their support forum and they let me know that they will have 5.8.2 for Snow Leopard on the app store soon. It will also be eligible for the free upgrade to 6.0. I have been hesitant on upgrading to Lion due to the bad reviews and the fact that some applications are still not working properly on Lion at the moment.
I held off on the upgrade to Lion for the same reasons, but it's been one month and so far I have not had any issues.
Not really a computer savvy guy, but I think as long as your MAC isn't too old and have a decent amount of memory it should be fine. I have a 2008 MAC and upgraded the memory from 1 GB to 4 GB about a year ago, super easy to do and it really sped up my computer .
