At FedEx we call it jumpseating. The term applies to both riding in the cockpit or in the Back, area behind the cockpit, where there are a few passenger seats depending on the aircraft and configuration. I think the confusion is that "non-reving" is the term used for employees and dependents traveling with standby passes. Jumpseaters are strictly crew members traveling outside of the non-rev process, whether we ride in the back or front. Jump Seaters and Non-Revs are completely different codes for listing on passenger carriers. On Fedex, all we have is jumpseaters. Passenger carriers have both.
