If you don't like it make sure it is the right size and looks good. Take it to dry cleaning once in a while with the rest of your uniform.
And besides, what's next? Backpacks, wrinkled shirts, dirty shoes? Spiky hear? Earphones? Nipples, visible through your shirt? Crying about how delta tickets should be flown by delta pilots? But from the way we look - what's the difference?
Maybe I am exaggerating here, but can we really ask for 100% pay restoration if we look like pilots who make $20/hour?
PS. NO, NOT RUNNING for CPO. No, not a Marine. Yes, worked for a company where hats were optional and didn't wear it for years. No, not balding. Yes, tired of seeing pilots who look like trash. Thx.

I agree. Well said!
I hate wearing the hat, but I do it because it's part of the uniform, etc.
Others may disagree but I think the (properly worn) Delta pilot uniform is by far the best looking in the industry. When I see some guy walking around with his double breasted jacket unbuttoned and no hat...I cringe.
I see pilots who work for the DCI carrier Du jour with (or without) hats, with (or without) jackets, with (or without) backpacks, ear buds, etc. There's no standardization even within the individual DCI carrier. In short the whole lot of them are very unprofessional looking.
I think it was in charm school where they told us passengers look at a pilot's shoes. If they see they are clean and shined; that gives them confidence that the pilot has his (or her) sh*t together (my phrase).
