Well MTB, the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence I am sorry to say. If you like your job which is stable and the QOL is good and they pay you well. I would simply say STAY. I am at the arilines myself and have really no love lose to leave today if I could. I am looking for a good Corp. position down south to maybe jumpship and start over again for. The QOL has gone down hill since the paycuts and workrule changes. I work anywhere from 16 to 18 days amonth, 13 hr. duty days, and fly 81-88 hrs a month. Not much of a real life outside this slaveship. It was great in the old days but it has taken a turn for the worse, it will be a very long time before it improves to any degree that it once was. We as a pilot group gave so much, just so some jerk can get a $99 fare to the west coast at my expense. No there are better jobs out there, you just have to look hard for them. Now UPS or FEDEX is where the real money is and thats where a future maybe for you. Good luck in your search to find that great flying job. If you came from an airline its probably not the same these days. Call your buddies up and see the new condition you maybe working under. A good number of pilots here said no thanks to their recall notices. That should say alot about the new airline world. Most important I have to say is that you are flying and staying current which is the best time to be looking for a better job out there. Take care and fly safe. ATPF.
