My post was just in response to the original title of the post-REALISTIC min quals. I've heard the 10% # w/o sponsors get the call and in those 2 interview classes 50% didn't even have a sponsor which, a few yrs ago, would probably mean you didn't even get to the interview. Not trying to discourage anybody nor say that having heavy intl time makes you a better heavy intl pilot than a pointy nose guy, just stating the facts of a relatively small sample size in regards to the original post. I think if you have the basics- ATP, 1000 PIC Turbine, FE written, First class medical, etc., you always have a shot and you are a fool not to pay the $75 and at least try it. I'm also saying that if you really want to improve your chances, shake the weeds call some friends of your second cousin's, sister-in-law's, best friend's, next door neighbor and see if they know someone at FedEx, it will only improve your chances. If you've been in aviation any length of time, someone has told you at some point, "it's not what you know, it's who you know". That may hold some water at FedEx and other places.
