I've heard from furloughees doing the RJ thing that they would have to give the CAL thing some serious thought. Hard to believe I know, but from their perspective as two timers they'd rather sit awhile, see what happens with the economy, JCBA and beyond. Also they said they'd like to see the list start moving in earnest and things smooth out at UCH before coming back.
This is not my opinion, just what has been said. Keep in mind however these are people living in base, holding a line and probably dropping time to create a lot of time off while getting decent health care at affordable prices. I think the two timers are seriously burned and gun shy and besides the pay increase, I don't think commuting to reserve at CAL is overly appealing if your home now and can sit awhile and see how things shake out.
Anyway, FWIW.
